We ordered 2 takeaway meals, my partner recieved a phone call and was told you can’t do the chilli scrambled eggs w/beans that we ordered but could do the eggs poached (we assumed the dish would still have the ingredients listed for the dish of “feta, shallots and fresh herbs”???) but pictured is what I received instead. I’m pretty disgusted that this is what we received and is unacceptable for $25, my partners meal was of similar poor standard for another $25.
Having 30 years in the hospitality industry I’m sure I have an idea on how to keep patrons !! Went to this cafe on the advice of my boss this morning for breakfast as he said the food was fantastic, unfortunately I didn’t get to the food as I left before I was even asked for a coffee. Was seated and given water then was basically forgot about for ten minutes while new walk in’s where seated and orders taken while I was left like a shag on a rock out side I was looked at by other wait staff member but nothing from the other that greeted me when I arrived was not even offered a “would you like a coffee to start you off “ just a water and see ya !!! I Was also on the lookout for a venue for a group booking but will not bother with this one . 👎
The Axil coffee is great; sharing the sparkling water and the Axil coffee card is a nice touch. The chilli scrambled and smashed avocado with kale salad were both great served with generous portions. Highly recommend the Snickers special milkshake.
Took a bit of time to be seated but the menu and atmosphere was great once we found a spot. Lots of outdoor seating for dogs and the staff were very friendly.
The eggs benedict was great.
They use Axil coffee so the coffee was excellent.
Ok it was Anzac Day so I probably didn’t catch them at their best. Took an hour from walking in to getting our food. Two things on the menu we ordered were off. The waiting staff were a bit disinterested and off. There are infinitely better places on the high street
I got the chilli eggs, double espresso and Large Brewed Chai Latte
The espresso was really nice, well balanced, served with sparkling water …
This is the first time I will put my review about Lilydale General Store but been here lots of time. Both human and pet friendly. You shouldn’t miss this place.
Definitely worth the visit if you are nearby
